SOLAS Convention

Safety of Life at Sea. The foundational convention governing the safety of commercial vessels: construction, life-saving appliances, fire protection and radiocommunications. First adopted in 1914 after the Titanic.

SOLAS compliance relies on a ship certificate registry kept up to date.
